TL;DR: It is shown that the active form of vitamin D calcitriol increases the peak bone mass in mice by inhibiting osteoclastogenesis and bone resorption, and crosstalk between the BMP‐Smad1 and RANKL‐NF‐κB pathways that underlies the action of active vitamin D on bone health is uncovered.

PDGF-AA promotes osteogenic differentiation and migration of mesenchymal stem cell by down-regulating PDGFRα and derepressing BMP-Smad1/5/8 signaling
TL;DR: It is shown that PDGF-AA, but not -AB or -BB, could activate the BMP-Smad1/5/8 pathway in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which requires BMPRIA as well as PDGFRα.
