Schuyler,Giancarlo Castellano,Renée Beekman,Emanuele Raineri,Anna Esteve,Guillem Clot,Néria Verdaguer-Dot,Martí Duran-Ferrer,Nuria Russiñol,Roser Vilarrasa-Blasi,Simone Ecker,Vera Pancaldi,Daniel Rico,Lidia Agueda,Julie Blanc,David S. Wiemels,Alfonso Valencia,Marta Gut,Paul Flicek,Hendrik G. Stunnenberg,Reiner Siebert,Ralf Küppers,Ivo Gut,Elias Campo,José I. Martín-Subero +41 more
TL;DR: It is determined that B cell neoplasms frequently acquire methylation changes in regions already undergoing dynamic methylation during normal B cell differentiation, and this signature was particularly widespread in mature cells with an extended lifespan.
Whole-epigenome analysis in multiple myeloma reveals DNA hypermethylation of B cell-specific enhancers
Xabier Agirre,Giancarlo Castellano,Marien Pascual,Simon Heath,Marta Kulis,Victor Segura,Anke K. Bergmann,Anna Esteve,Angelika Merkel,Emanuele Raineri,Lidia Agueda,Julie Blanc,David S. Stunnenberg,Ivo Gut,Felipe Prosper,José I. Martín-Subero +37 more
TL;DR: Overall, DNA hypermethylation of developmentally regulated enhancers as a new type of epigenetic modification associated with the pathogenesis of MM is identified.
E3 ubiquitin ligase Atrogin-1 mediates adaptive resistance to KIT-targeted inhibition in gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
Alfonso García-Valverde,Jordi Rosell,Sergi Sayols,David Gómez-Peregrina,Daniel F Pilco-Janeta,Iván Olivares-Rivas,Enrique de Álava,Joan Maurel,Jordi Rubió-Casadevall,Anna Esteve,Marta Gut,Claudia Valverde,Jordi Barretina,Joan Carles,George D. Demetri,Jonathan A. Fletcher,Joaquín Arribas,César Serrano +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the E3 ubiquitin ligase Atrogin-1 (FBXO32)-the main effector of muscular atrophy in cachexia-resulted in the most critical gene derepressed in response to KIT inhibition, regardless the type of KIT primary or secondary mutation.

TL;DR: There is a subset of tumors, frequently classified as mesenchymal or IGS cluster 23, that may be identified with IHC and could well be optimal candidates for immunotherapy, especially with anti-M2 and/or dendritic cell vaccination.

Prognostic value of monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR) in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).
Marc Cucurull,Eudald Felip,Juan Jose Garcia,Carlos Erasun,L. Angelats,Iris Teruel,Sergi Martinez-Román,Joaquin Hernández,Anna Esteve,Sofia España,Margarita Romeo +10 more
TL;DR: This data indicates that pre-operative neoadjuvant chemotherapy prior to surgery in advanced EOC is a major issue and identifies high-risk early-stage EOC patients as p.e17066.
