Changes in DNA Methylation in Arabidopsis thaliana Plants Exposed Over Multiple Generations to Gamma Radiation.
Pol Laanen,Eline Saenen,Mohamed Mysara,Jorden van de Walle,May Van Hees,Robin Nauts,Filip Van Nieuwerburgh,Stefan Voorspoels,Griet Jacobs,Ann Cuypers,Nele Horemans +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of gamma radiation on DNA methylation and its effect across generations in young Arabidopsis plants was studied in a multigenerational set-up, where three generations (parent, generation 1, and generation 2) of 7-day old Arabiopsis thaliana plants were exposed to either of the different radiation treatments (30, 60, 110, or to natural background radiation (control condition) for 14 days.

Analysis of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) proteins affected by copper stress
TL;DR: The effect of excess copper on the expression of soluble proteins in 10-day old Phaseolus vulgaris seedlings was studied with two-dimensional electrophoresis and mass spectrometry, to find sensitive biochemical markers of exposure.

Uranium induced effects on development and mineral nutrition of arabidopsis thaliana
Nathalie Vanhoudt,Hildegarde Vandenhove,Nele Horemans,Daniel Martinez Bello,May Van Hees,Jean Wannijn,Robert Carleer,Jaco Vangronsveld,Ann Cuypers +8 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that elevated uranium concentrations can cause important morphological and physiological effects and disturb the nutrient profiles in Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings.

Unraveling uranium induced oxidative stress related responses in Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings. Part II: responses in the leaves and general conclusions.
Nathalie Vanhoudt,Ann Cuypers,Nele Horemans,Tony Remans,Kelly Opdenakker,Karen Smeets,Daniel Martinez Bello,Michel Havaux,Jean Wannijn,May Van Hees,Jaco Vangronsveld,Hildegarde Vandenhove +11 more
TL;DR: The mechanisms by which plants respond to uranium stress are unraveled and a root-to-shoot signaling system was suggested in which plastids could be important sensing sites and general conclusions drawn from the results of the roots and the leaves are presented.
