TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed an econometric model to identify and investigate the determinants of carbon emission by full-service airline carriers for international transportation and further designed a simulation model to gauge the impact of each attribute on total carbon emissions of the airlines when the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme in International Aviation (CORSIA) is implemented.

Profit maximizing hub location problem in the airline industry under coopetition
TL;DR: The hypothesis that airlines do need coopetitive alliances as the operating cost and competition is rising and profit margin is shrinking is established and a two-phased mixed-integer linear programming formulation under duopoly setting is proposed to determine the airlines’ individual networks and intercontinental hub links to route the demands through these jointly established arcs.
