Regulation of matrixmetalloproteinase-3 and matrixmetalloproteinase-13 by SUMO-2/3 through the transcription factor NF-κB
Svetlana Frank,Marvin A. Peters,Corinna Wehmeyer,Simon Strietholt,Christina Koers-Wunrau,Jessica Bertrand,Marianne Heitzmann,Anja Hillmann,J. Sherwood,Christine Seyfert,Thomas Pap +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that despite their high homology, SUMO-2/3 are differentially regulated by T NF-α and selectively control TNF-α mediated MMP expression via the NF-κB pathway.
OCT angiography in the mouse: A novel evaluation method for vascular pathologies of the mouse retina
Maged Alnawaiseh,A. Rosentreter,Anja Hillmann,Anne F. Alex,Daniel Niekämper,Peter Heiduschka,Thomas Pap,Nicole Eter +7 more
TL;DR: With OCT angiography, it is possible to verify the choroidal neovascularization induced by laser treatment and is a helpful imaging tool for non-invasive, in vivo evaluation of laser-induced CNV in the mouse.

CRUP: A comprehensive framework to predict condition-specific regulatory units
Anna Ramisch,Verena Heinrich,Laura V. Glaser,Alisa Fuchs,Xinyi Yang,Philipp Benner,Robert Schoepflin,Na Li,Sarah Kinkley,Anja Hillmann,John Longinotto,Steffen Heyne,Beate Czepukojc,Sonja M. Kessler,Alexandra K. Kiemer,Cristina Cadenas,Laura Arrigoni,Nina Gasparoni,Thomas Manke,Thomas Pap,Andrew Pospisilik,Jan G. Hengstler,Joern Walter,Sebastiaan H. Meijsing,Ho-Ryun Chung,Martin Vingron +25 more
TL;DR: The software CRUP (Condition-specific Regulatory Units Prediction) is presented to infer from epigenetic marks a list of regulatory units consisting of dynamically changing enhancers with their target genes, solely based on histone modification ChIP-seq data.
Cell Surface-Bound TIMP3 Induces Apoptosis in Mesenchymal Cal78 Cells through Ligand-Independent Activation of Death Receptor Signaling and Blockade of Survival Pathways
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that exclusively cell surface-bound endogenous TIMP3 induces apoptosis in mesenchymal Cal78 cells through ligand-independent activation of death receptor signaling and blockade of survival signaling pathways.
Uptake of SLE autoantibodies by podocytes
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that podocytes with up to 80 aggregates per cell were degraded by autophagy, which leads to a better survival of the cells and the number of aggregates after the inhibition of autoophagy rises significantly up to twofold.
