Management of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in Children
TL;DR: Results of recent randomized trials indicate that dual chamber pacing, once considered a therapeutic option for patients with HCM, should only be used for conduction abnormalities, and regular clinical risk stratification for sudden death is of vital importance for the prevention of sudden death in young patients.

TL;DR: Definitive diagnosis of HCM implicates disqualification from competitive sports resulting in a significant reduction of sudden cardiac death due to HCM during sports competition, which should lead to a widespread preparticipation screening of athletes.

TL;DR: In a selected high-risk patient cohort with HOCM ominous arrhythmic events seem to be rare and predominantly occur in patients with a very high estimated risk of sudden death before PTSMA.
