Axon-induced mitogenesis of human Schwann cells involves heregulin and p185erbB2.
TL;DR: Results imply that a HRG, or aHRG-like molecule, is a component of the axonal mitogen that induces proliferation through an interaction that involves p185erbB2 on Schwann cells.

TL;DR: It is shown that ErbB2 is a critical component in mediating HRG responsiveness in a panel of human breast and ovarian tumor cell lines and that methods for measuring cell proliferation, as well as experimental conditions, are critical for determining HRGs effect on tumor cell growth in vitro.
