TL;DR: Characterization of the Rps6 provides a basis to study the functions of the mammalian S6 by gene targeting, and reveals surprisingly a high degree of identity within 350 bp of the first intron of both genes.

TL;DR: The next step for distinguishing histologically complicated lung cancers and determining optimal treatment strategies is gene expression analysis, and supported by gene expression data, it is possible to prognosticate the course of the disease.
