Laser Additive Manufacturing of Titanium Aluminides for Turbomachinery Applications
Andreas Vogelpoth,Johannes Henrich Schleifenbaum,Silja Rittinghaus +2 more
- 05 Nov 2019
TL;DR: The defect-free processing of TiAl alloy by means of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) is demonstrated by manufacturing of an automobile turbocharger wheel as discussed by the authors, which was manufactured crack free with a density > 99.5%.

Additive Manufacturing of Tool Steels
Andreas Vogelpoth,Jasmin Saewe,Hans Günter Krull,Svenja Richert,Peter Weiland,T. Nerzak,Florian Eibl,Felix Pastors +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of lower martensite start temperature are investigated using the alloy 1.2842 as an example, and the experience along the process chain with the standard steels is used for a modification of the Alloy 1.2344.

Laser based manufacturing of titanium aluminides
Silja-Katharina Rittinghaus,Veronica Rocio Molina Ramirez,Andreas Vogelpoth,Ulrike Hecht,Janett Schmelzer +4 more
- 01 Jan 2020
TL;DR: In this article, an approach for additive manufacturing of complex geometries made of light-weight titanium aluminides (TiAl, ρ = 3.9 − 4.1 g/cm3) is presented.
