Blood-Brain Barrier Disruption By Low-Frequency Ultrasound
Matthias Reinhard,Andreas Hetzel,Sebastian Krüger,Stefan Kretzer,Jochen Talazko,Sargon Ziyeh,Johannes Weber,Thomas Els +7 more
TL;DR: Abnormal permeability of the human blood-brain barrier can be induced by wide-field low-frequency insonation and the observed excessive bleeding rate with low- frequency sonothrombolysis might be attributable to primary blood- brain barrier disruption by ultrasound.

- 09 Jul 2003
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a continuous monitoring of cerebral autoregulation in which the blood pressure of a patient is measured, the cerebral blood flow speed is measured and the measurements are then repeated.

Ultraschalldiagnostik bei Arteriitis cranialis
Matthias Reinhard,Dieter Schmidt,Andreas Hetzel +2 more
- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: Positive sonographic findings are highly predictive of temporal arteritis in patients with suspectedporal arteritis and biopsy is then not regularly needed, whileLimitations of the method comprise technical and examiner-dependent factors as well as an absent halo in patients already treated with glucocorticosteroids and in initial stages of the inflammation.
