Capacitive Soft Strain Sensors via Multicore–Shell Fiber Printing
Andreas Frutiger,Joseph T. Muth,Daniel M. Vogt,Yigit Menguc,Alexandre Brincalepe Campo,Alexander D. Valentine,Conor J. Walsh,Jennifer A. Lewis +7 more
TL;DR: A new method for fabricating textile integrable capacitive soft strain sensors is reported, based on multicore-shell fiber printing, which provides accurate and hysteresis-free strain measurements under both static and dynamic conditions.

Nonspecific Binding-Fundamental Concepts and Consequences for Biosensing Applications.
Andreas Frutiger,Alexander Tanno,Stephanie Hwu,Raphael F. Tiefenauer,Janos Vörös,Nako Nakatsuka +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the evolution of the concept of nonspecific binding over the past five decades based upon the thermodynamic, intermolecular, and structural perspectives to provide classification frameworks for biomolecular interactions.

Fully Tunable Silicon Nanowire Arrays Fabricated by Soft Nanoparticle Templating.
Marcel Rey,Roey Elnathan,Ran Ditcovski,Karen Geisel,Michele Zanini,Miguel Angel Fernandez-Rodriguez,Miguel Angel Fernandez-Rodriguez,Vikrant V. Naik,Andreas Frutiger,Walter Richtering,Tal Ellenbogen,Nicolas H. Voelcker,Lucio Isa +12 more
TL;DR: A fabrication breakthrough is demonstrated to produce large-area arrays of vertically aligned silicon nanowires (VA-SiNWs) with full tunability of the geometry of the single Nanowires and of the whole array, paving the way toward advanced programmable designs of nanowire platforms.

Mechanically flexible vertically integrated a-IGZO thin-film transistors with 500 nm channel length fabricated on free standing plastic foil
Luisa Petti,Paulina Aguirre,Niko Munzenrieder,Giovanni A. Salvatore,Christoph Zysset,Andreas Frutiger,Lars Büthe,Christian Vogt,Gerhard Tröster +8 more
- 01 Dec 2013
TL;DR: The first mechanically flexible amorphous Indium-Gallium-Zinc Oxide (a-IGZO) vertical thin-film transistors (VTFTs) with 500 nm channel length, fabricated on a freestanding plastic foil, using a low temperature process 107 and a threshold voltage of 2.2 V, were reported in this article.

Principles for Sensitive and Robust Biomolecular Interaction Analysis: The Limits of Detection and Resolution of Diffraction-Limited Focal Molography
Andreas Frutiger,Yves Blickenstorfer,Silvio Bischof,Csaba Forró,Matthias E. Lauer,Volker Gatterdam,Christof Fattinger,Janos Vörös +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduce refined theoretical models which can accurately quantify the amount of matter bound to the mologram from the diffracted intensity, and demonstrate a resolution in real-time binding experiments comparable to the best SPR sensors, without the need of temperature stabilisation or drift correction.
