Imatinib mesylate (STI571) interference with growth of neuroectodermal tumour cell lines does not critically involve c-Kit inhibition
Geertuy Te Kronnie,Fabio Timeus,Andrea Rinaldi,Nicoletta Crescenzio,Monica Spinelli,Angelo Rosolen,Emanuela Ricotti,Giuseppe Basso +7 more
TL;DR: The results point to the potential relevance of STI157 for neuroectodermal tumor therapy in view of its inhibitory effect on tumor cell growth, in spite of the observation that the inhibition of the c-Kit signaling pathway is not critically involved.

Mutations of CD79A, CD79B and EZH2 genes in immunodeficiency-related non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
Daniela Capello,Annunziata Gloghini,Maurizio Martini,Michele Spina,Umberto Tirelli,Francesco Bertoni,Andrea Rinaldi,Enrica Morra,Alessandro Rambaldi,Fabiola Sinigaglia,Luigi Maria Larocca,Antonino Carbone +11 more
TL;DR: The vast majority of immunodeficiency-related NHL (ID-NHL) is represented by aggressive monoclonal B-cell lymphomas deriving from B cells that have experienced the germinal centre (GC) reaction.

Genome-wide promoter methylation of hairy cell leukemia.
Alberto J. Arribas,Alberto J. Arribas,Andrea Rinaldi,Giorgia Chiodin,Ivo Kwee,Ivo Kwee,Afua Adjeiwaa Mensah,Luciano Cascione,Luciano Cascione,Davide Rossi,Meena Kanduri,Richard Rosenquist,Emanuele Zucca,Peter Johnson,Gianluca Gaidano,Christopher C. Oakes,Francesco Bertoni,Francesco Forconi,Francesco Forconi +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, DNA methylation profiling was analyzed with the Infinium HumanMethylation27 array in 41 mature clonal B-cell tumors, including 11 HCL, 7 splenic marginal zone lymphomas (SMZLs), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia with an unmutated (n = 7) or mutated(n = 6) immunoglobulin gene heavy chain variable (IGHV) region.

Bromodomain and extra-terminal domain inhibition modulates the expression of pathologically relevant microRNAs in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Afua Adjeiwaa Mensah,Luciano Cascione,Luciano Cascione,Eugenio Gaudio,Chiara Tarantelli,Riccardo Bomben,Elena Bernasconi,Domenico Zito,Domenico Zito,Andrea Lampis,Andrea Lampis,Jens C. Hahne,Jens C. Hahne,Andrea Rinaldi,Anastasios Stathis,Emanuele Zucca,Ivo Kwee,Ivo Kwee,Ivo Kwee,Valter Gattei,Nicola Valeri,Nicola Valeri,Maria E. Riveiro,Francesco Bertoni +23 more
TL;DR: Analysis of publicly available chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing data of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma cells treated with bromodomain and extra-terminal domain (BET) inhibitors showed that the BET family member BRD4 bound to the upstream regulatory regions of multiple microRNA genes and that this binding decreased following BET inhibition.
Large genomic aberrations detected by SNP array are independent prognosticators of a shorter time to first treatment in chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients with normal FISH
Michael Mian,Andrea Rinaldi,Afua Adjeiwaa Mensah,Davide Rossi,Marco Ladetto,Francesco Forconi,Francesco Forconi,Roberto Marasca,Mario Uhr,Georg Stussi,Ivo Kwee,Ivo Kwee,F. Cavalli,Gianluca Gaidano,Emanuele Zucca,Francesco Bertoni +15 more
TL;DR: SNP array detected additional large genomic aberrations not covered by the standard FISH panel predicting the outcome of CLL patients, and emerged as independent prognosticators in multivariate analysis.
