Methods for the catalytic activation of metallic structured substrates
Andrea Montebelli,Carlo Giorgio Visconti,Gianpiero Groppi,Enrico Tronconi,Cinzia Cristiani,Cristina Ferreira,Stefanie Kohler +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the main methods reported in the open literature for depositing catalytic layers onto metallic substrates, specifically focusing on the coating of metallic honeycomb monoliths and open-cell foams, are discussed.

Washcoating and chemical testing of a commercial Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst for the methanol synthesis over copper open-cell foams
Andrea Montebelli,Carlo Giorgio Visconti,Gianpiero Groppi,Enrico Tronconi,Stefanie Kohler,Hilde J. Venvik,Rune Myrstad +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the preparation of washcoated copper open-cell foam prototypes by dip-blowing a ball-milled aqueous slurry made of commercial powdered Cu/ZnO/Al 2 O 3 methanol catalyst, deionized water and methylhydroxyethylcellulose.

Kinetic and Modeling Study of the Ethylene Oxychlorination to 1,2-Dichloroethane in Fluidized-Bed Reactors
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a new kinetic model for the ethylene oxychlorination reaction, relying on 9 chemical reactions to describe the evolution of 12 species (including 6 major byproducts) in a set of 28 kinetic runs over a commercial CuCl2/γ-Al2O3 catalyst in a dedicated tubular flow reactor setup operating in a chemical regime.

Highly Conductive Structured Catalysts for the Intensification of Methanol Synthesis in Multitubular Reactors
Carlo Giorgio Visconti,Andrea Montebelli,Gianpiero Groppi,Enrico Tronconi,Stefanie Kohler +4 more
- 01 Jan 2018
TL;DR: In this paper, a recent investigation of conductive structured catalysts with substrates consisting of either honeycomb monoliths or open-cell foams, for the intensification of methanol synthesis in Lurgi-type shell-and-tube converters is presented.
