Remodelling of periodontal tissues adjacent to sites treated according to the principles of guided tissue regeneration (GTR)
TL;DR: The aim of the present study was to assess the remodelling of alveolar bone adjacent to periodontal sites following therapy according to the principles of guided tissue regeneration (GTR) using computer-assisted densitometric image analysis (CADIA), and to compare the radiographic results to traditional clinical parameters.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the composition of the oral microbiota and the degree of oral inflammation in Parkinson's disease patients compared to 20 healthy controls and found that the oral microbiome is altered in early and mid-stage PD patients.
Effect of nicotine‐treated epithelial cells on the proliferation and collagen production of gingival fibroblasts
TL;DR: The results suggest that epithelial cells, acting as mechanical barrier, can reduce but not completely eliminate the deleterious effect of nicotine on gingival fibroblasts.

Enamel matrix proteins and systemic antibiotics as adjuncts to non‐surgical periodontal treatment: clinical effects
TL;DR: The notion that optimal repair and regeneration of the periodontium requires suppression of the microbiota causing periodontal disease is supported, as well as the possibility that systemic antibiotics may be beneficial in patients with chronic periodontitis.

Maintenance of new attachment 1 and 4 years following guided tissue regeneration (GTR).
TL;DR: The aim of the present study was to evaluate periodontal tissue alterations during the maintenance phase following GTR therapy and found that the clinical attachment level was maintained within +/- 1 mm in 12 out of 19 sites during the 4 years of maintenance.
