El artículo tiene como objetivo evaluar el nivel de desarrollo de la capacidad de absorción realizada (RACAP) en las Pyme colombianas. Se parte de una muestra de 363 Pyme colombianas (Dane,2012), se usa una revisión de literatura con apoyo del análisis de contenido y un modelo de regresión lineal, que permiten mostrar la existencia de una correlación lineal positiva entre la adquisición y asimilación del conocimiento externo en las organizaciones objeto de estudio,. Although the literature on university–industry links has begun to uncover the reasons for, and types of, collaboration between universities and businesses, it offers relatively little explanation of ways to reduce the barriers in these collaborations. This paper seeks to unpack the nature of the obstacles to collaborations between universities and industry, exploring influence of different mechanisms in lowering barriers related to the orientation of universities and to the transactions involved in working with university partners. Drawing on a large-scale survey and public records, this paper explores the effects of collaboration experience, breadth of interaction, and inter-organizational trust on lowering different types of barriers. The analysis shows that prior experience of collaborative research lowers orientation-related barriers and that greater levels of trust reduce both types of barriers studied. It also indicates that breadth of interaction diminishes the orientation-related, but increases transaction-related barriers. The paper explores the implications of these findings for policies aimed at facilitating university–industry collaboration.

Lower emissions, reduced friction and low lubricant oil consumption are the main drivers for new gasoline engines In terms of piston ring pack, the trend is to reduce ring tangential load and width On the other hand, the main concern is to have proper ring conformability and lube oil control This work presents the comparison of a baseline ring pack with a low friction pack in terms of friction, blow-by control and lube oil consumption Besides ring width and tangential load reductions, evaluations of ring materials are also carried out Narrow compression rings, 10 and 08 mm, were engine tested PVD top ring was also tested and showed about 10% friction reduction compared to the usual Gas Nitrided one 3-piece 15 mm oil rings were compared with the usual 20 mm ones Being more flexible, the narrower oil rings can have same conformability with reduced tangential load Friction was measured in the mono-cylinder SI Floating Liner engine at 5 operational conditions Effect of cylinder roughness on friction is discussed by reciprocating bench tests Compared with a typical 12/12/20 mm SI ring pack, the proposed 10/10/15 mm pack brought about 28% reduction in ring friction in the tested conditions, which would mean in about 1% of fuel savings in urban useCopyright © 2006 by ASME

Low Friction Ring Pack for Gasoline Engines

Resumo: A crescente demanda por inovacao e a necessidade de reduzir o tempo e o custo do desenvolvimento de novos produtos tem mudado o cenario automotivo nacional, o qual foi por muito tempo caracterizado por um modelo fechado de inovacao. A tecnologia flex fuel tem sido um desafio para as empresas desse setor e e o fator motivador deste estudo, cujo principal objetivo foi compreender o processo de inovacao aberta no contexto de Fuzzy Front End, identificando as principais motivacoes e os principais gargalos para implementacao. Para atingir esse objetivo foi realizado um estudo de caso longitudinal em um consorcio composto por 9 empresas e 2 universidades. A metodologia envolveu pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa. A principal contribuicao teorica desta pesquisa e justamente o pioneirismo no que diz respeito as empresas montadoras automotivas trabalhando de forma colaborativa. Esta pesquisa tambem tem implicacoes gerenciais importantes. Ela indica as peculiaridades que devem ser consideradas quando em um ambiente de coopeticao, bem como sugere aos gestores de que forma trabalhar as fases iniciais da inovacao. A pesquisa retrata bem o papel das universidades nesse contexto.
