A robotic surgery system comprises a mounting base, a plurality of surgical instruments, and an articulate support assembly. Each instrument is insertable into a patient through an associated minimally invasive aperture to a desired internal surgical site. The articulate support assembly movably supports the instruments relative to the base. The support generally comprises an orienting platform, a platform linkage movably supporting the orienting platform relative to the base, and a plurality of manipulators mounted to the orienting platform, wherein each manipulator movably supports an associated instrument.

A modular display system for display devices, especially flat screen monitors which is a hub and spoke design whereby multiple monitors are mounted at the same hub height. A suspension system for a personal computer or monitor comprising a carriage in which the monitor or computer is mounted, the carriage being supported from above by a frictionally secured swivel and tilt mechanism in turn attached to a pivotable and rotatable support arm. The support arm is balanced by an adjustable pneumatic pressure cylinder, and is mounted on a roller assembly such that it may be carried along a path defined by a track assembly, thereby permitting the monitor or computer to be transported between first and second positions, as well as simultaneously being raised or lowered vertically, tilted, rotated, or swiveled. The track assembly may be attached to the underside of a shelving unit and incorporated into a modular partition system, or attached to a freestanding frame.

An X-ray tubehead counterbalancing mechanism devoid of springs, cams and chains is disclosed. The mechanism requires only a single adjustment to precisely counterbalance objects, such as tubeheads and the like. The mechanism includes a commercially available gas spring which is used in conjunction with parallel motion linkage assembly which carries the tubehead. The piston rod end of the gas spring is adjustable upwardly or downwardly in a direction substantially normal to the axis of the piston rod by means of a single adjustment screw cooperating with a clevis which pivotally mounts the piston rod. With such adjustment capability, the present mechanism will support and counterbalance tubeheads having wide variations in weight and inertia.
