Crystal Structure of Interleukin-21 Receptor (IL-21R) Bound to IL-21 Reveals That Sugar Chain Interacting with WSXWS Motif Is Integral Part of IL-21R
Ole J. Hamming,Lishan Kang,Anders Svensson,Jesper Lykkegaard Karlsen,Henrik Rahbek-Nielsen,Søren R. Paludan,Siv Annegrethe Hjorth,Kent Bondensgaard,Rune Hartmann +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a sugar chain bridges the two fibronectin domains that constitute the extracellular domain of IL-21R and anchors at the WSXWS motif through an extensive hydrogen bonding network, including mannosylation, which offers a novel structural explanation of the role of the class I cytokine signature motif.

Alessandro Moretta,Mariella Della Chiesa,Pascale Andre,Laurent Gauthier,Francois Romagne,Peter Andreas Nicolai Reumert Wagtmann,Ivan Svendsen,Stefan Zahn,Anders Svensson,Matthias Thorolfsson,Søren Berg Padkær,Kristian Kjaergaard,Pieter Spee,Milchael Wilken +13 more
- 02 Oct 2008
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe human antibodies that regulate the activity of NK cells and allow a potentiation of NK cell cytotoxicity in mammalian subjects, and antibodies having antigen-binding properties similar to those of human monoclonal antibody 1-7F9 or 1-4F1.

Birgitte Ursø,Peter Andreas Nicolai Reumert Wagtmann,Inger Lund Pedersen,Anders Svensson +3 more
- 15 Dec 2008
TL;DR: In this article, isolated anti-human NKG2D monoclonal antibodies were used for therapeutic applications in humans, such as immunotherapy, immunostaining, and drug discovery.

Kir-binding agents and methods of use thereof
Søren Berg Padkær,Peter Andreas Nicolai Reumert Wagtmann,Petrus Johannes Louis Spee,Stefan Zahn,Kristian Kjaergaard,Anders Svensson +5 more
- 06 Jan 2006
TL;DR: In this article, agents and methods that are capable of augmenting NK-mediated killing of target cells by reducing inhibitory KIR signalling without reducing the binding of KIR to HLA-C are described.
