Impact of water saturation level on arsenic and metal mobility in the Fe-amended soil
Jurate Kumpiene,Daniel Ragnvaldsson,Lars Lövgren,Solomon Tesfalidet,Björn Gustavsson,Anders Lättström,Per Leffler,Christian Maurice +7 more
TL;DR: The batch leaching test used for waste characterization substantially underestimated As solubility that could occur under water-saturated (anaerobic) conditions, and other techniques than Fe-stabilization of As containing soil should be considered.

Techniques for the Stabilization and Assessment of Treated Copper-, Chromium-, and Arsenic-contaminated Soil
Christian Maurice,Sofia Lidelöw,Björn Gustavsson,Anders Lättström,Daniel Ragnvaldsson,Per Leffler,Lars Lövgren,Solomon Tesfalidet,Jurate Kumpiene +8 more
TL;DR: Assessment of a chemical stabilization procedure of CCA-contaminated soil using iron-containing blaster sand (BS) or oxygen-scarfing granulate (OSG) found that the treatment with BS appeared to produce better effects in the long term than treatment with OSG.
Arsenic chemical species-dependent genotoxic potential in water extracts from two CCA-contaminated soils measured by DNA-repair deficient CHO-cells
Daniel Ragnvaldsson,Anders Lättström,Solomon Tesfalidet,Lars Lövgren,Mats Tysklind,Per Leffler +5 more
TL;DR: The results of the various combinations of soil extraction techniques and assays reflected important differences in arsenic speciation in the two soils and possible synergistic effects in CCA-related exposure, indicating that speciation and combinatory effects are factors that should be taken into account when assessing risks at former wood impregnation sites contaminated by C CA-agents.
