- 03 Nov 2021
TL;DR: In this paper, a bioremediation product of lyophilized native bacteria to respond to marine oil spills was developed, where three oil-degrading bacterial strains (two strains of Rhodococcus erythropolis and one Pseudomonas sp.), isolated from the NW Portuguese coast, were selected for lyophilation after biomass growth optimization (tested with alternative carbon sources).

An integrated yeast-based process for cis,cis-muconic acid production
Guokun Wang,Guokun Wang,Aline Tavares,Simone Schmitz,Simone Schmitz,Lucas Gabriel Souza França,Hugo Almeida,João Cavalheiro,Ana Carolas,Süleyman Øzmerih,Lars M. Blank,Bruno Sommer Ferreira,Irina Borodina +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an integrated process for manufacturing Cis,cis-muconic acid (CCM) from glucose by yeast fermentation was developed. But, there is no established process for large-scale CCM production.

Production of high- purity carotenoids by fermenting selected bacterial strains
Frederik van Keulen,Ana Carolas,Mafalda Lopes Brito,Bruno Sommer Ferreira +3 more
- 08 Mar 2007
TL;DR: In this article, a process of production carotenoids in improved fermentation conditions of selected bacterial strains constitutively over-producing carotenes or mutants thereof, purifying and isolating a specific crystalline carotene, preferably beta-carotene for its use in the feed, food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical sectors.
