The effects of intrauterine growth restriction and antenatal glucocorticoids on ovine fetal lung development
Amy E. Sutherland,Kelly J. Crossley,Beth J. Allison,Graham Jenkin,Euan M. Wallace,Suzanne L. Miller +5 more
TL;DR: Results show that in SUAL fetuses, maternal BM is associated with acceleration of fetal lung structure, as occurs in normally grown Fetuses, and that BM induces SP production, an effect not observed in SUal-induced IUGR fetuses alone.
Antenatal glucocorticoids reduce growth in appropriately grown and growth-restricted ovine fetuses in a sex-specific manner
Suzanne L. Miller,Amy E. Sutherland,Veena Supramaniam,David W. Walker,David W. Walker,Graham Jenkin,Graham Jenkin,Euan M. Wallace,Euan M. Wallace +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that antenatal glucocorticoids reduce fetal growth in a sex-specific manner, with females more growth restricted than males.

The effects of betamethasone on allopregnanolone concentrations and brain development in preterm fetal sheep.
Tamara Yawno,Tamara Yawno,Monique Mortale,Amy E. Sutherland,Graham Jenkin,Euan M. Wallace,David W. Walker,Suzanne L. Miller +7 more
TL;DR: BM, given at a dose clinically prescribed to accelerate lung maturation, adversely affects neurosteroid levels in the preterm fetal brain, and affects the maturational profile of white matter development; these effects were mitigated by the co-administration of alfaxolone.

Glucocorticoid treatment does not alter early cardiac adaptations to growth restriction in preterm sheep fetuses
Marianne Tare,Suzanne L. Miller,Euan M. Wallace,Amy E. Sutherland,Tamara Yawno,Harold A. Coleman,Graham Jenkin,Helena C. Parkington +7 more
TL;DR: This work has shown that glucocorticoid treatment does not alter early cardiac adaptations to growth restriction in preterm sheep fetuses.

Is Umbilical Cord Blood Therapy an Effective Treatment for Early Lung Injury in Growth Restriction
Beth J. Allison,Hannah Youn,Hannah Youn,Atul Malhotra,Atul Malhotra,Courtney McDonald,Courtney McDonald,Margie Castillo-Melendez,Margie Castillo-Melendez,Yen Pham,Yen Pham,Amy E. Sutherland,Amy E. Sutherland,Graham Jenkin,Graham Jenkin,Graeme R. Polglase,Graeme R. Polglase,Suzanne L. Miller,Suzanne L. Miller +18 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the uterine environment can alter the response to both secondary stress (ventilation) and therapy (UCB) and this study highlights the need for further research on the potential impact of novel therapies on a growth restricted offspring.
