TL;DR: The hybridization of zeolite-A with chitosan and β-cyclodextrin enhances the adsorption properties of the adsorbent for Congo red dye. The increased surface area, surface reactivity, and number of free active receptors resulted in higher adsorption capacities. The adsorption process follows Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm behavior, and the dominant physical mechanism involves dipole binding interactions and hydrogen bonds.
