TL;DR: An innovative strategy for patient and target selection for neuromodulation of impaired cognitive function is outlined and scientific and ethical issues that will attend future efforts to appropriately risk-stratify patients and initiate interventions with therapeutic intent are considered.

Sigmoid diverticular perforation in neurosurgical patients receiving high-dose corticosteroids
TL;DR: Patients over age 50 who receive high-dose corticosteroids are at risk for sigmoid colonic perforation, and these medications should be used with caution in such patients, and if possible, lower total doses of perioperative cortICosteroids should been used in patients with known diverticular disease.
