What is total quality control? : the Japanese way

The medical sector has entered an epoch of rapid innovation and strengthened competition that demands more creativity. That rapidly changing environment demand more flexibility for the operations. Although, various studies are available on the effects of multiple approaches on operational flexibility still JIT, TQM, and SCM never have been verified in the same study. This is empirically varification, a questionnaire has been distributed by convenience sampling in the medical sector of Jordan. Total 318 responses received and SPSS have been applied for multiple regression analysis. It has found that all three approaches have positive effects on operational flexibility but very minor even no approach has significant effects. This study is unique because it applies three diversified approaches in the same study and findings are unique. It is recommended for all managers of a medical sector that JIT, TQM, and SCM are not beneficial for operational flexibility for developing countries due to lack of resources, technology, and education. This study will help the researches that more studies need to verify for Jordan hospitals. Moreover, future studies can be done to identify the reasons behind these unique findings.

The Role of Just in Time, Total Quality Management, and Supply Chain Management toward Better Operational Performance

There is a mutual relationship between the prosperity of a nation and the quality of
education it provides to its people. Quality education improves standard of living of
people by enhancing the performance of engines of economic development. This
study focuses on the practice and application of Total Quality Management (TQM)
in Yemeni universities. A questionnaire was developed after a careful and thorough
review of the related literature and consultations with experts. The questionnaire was
administered to universities academy staff. The study was performed based on a
survey method for collecting data. A total of 262 questionnaires usable surveys were
received. Correlation Pearson, t-test, One-way ANOVA were applied to analysis the
gathered data from the questionnaire. The data were analyzed using computermediated
(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) (SPSS). According to the analysis
of TQM made in Yemen universities using statistical methods; Cronbach Alpha was
high enough to a value of 0.96. Unfortunately, the Yemeni public universities have
low turnout of TQM practice.

The total quality management practices in Yemeni Public Universities

This paper highlights the importance of total quality management (TQM) in the maritime educational institutions in the Philippines. Specifically, the study answers the following questions: (1) What is the implementation of TQM in maritime educational institutions in the Philippines in terms of: (a) access, (b) services to customers, (c) leadership, (d) physical environment and resources, (e) effective learning and teaching, (f) students, (g) staff, (h) external relations, (i) organization, and (j) standards?; (2) Is there a significant difference between the assessment of faculty members and non-academic personnel in the private and government maritime educational institutions?; and (3) What is the proposed strategic plan in order to improve the quality standard system (QSS) of the maritime educational institutions in the Philippines?. 
The study used the quasi-qualitative method of research with observations and interviews to follow-up response not clear to the reader; and the descriptive correlational design using a questionnaire-checklist as the primary tool in gathering the data needed and documents to supplement additional information of the data gathered. The respondents were the 350 maritime faculty members and 168 non-academic personnel of the selected ten (10) private maritime educational institutions and four (4) government maritime educational institutions in the Philippines. A total of 518 respondents were asked to participate. 
Purposive sampling was used in the study, where the researchers identified a set of criteria for the selection. The respondents were those with at least 1 to 2 years length of service in their respective institution. The research instrument was adopted from a TQM survey instrument for educational institutions. Data and information were generated by the self-rating scale instrument using the modified TQM self-assessing educational institutions, an instrument for self-auditing. The checklist updates made by Edward Sallis in his book, “Total Quality Management in Education” and some of the thoughts in the checklist were made by the original writers, Martin Barlosky and Professor Steve Lawton in their very useful Developing Quality Schools’. Hence, the results of the analysis served as the basis in the conceptualization of a strategic plan.

The Implementation of Total Quality Management in Maritime Educational Institutions in the Philippines

Syrian banks have witnessed an important change since 2002 with applying the advanced technology. Industrial bank played a crucial role in developing the industrial sector which provides about 25% to the GDP and this sector is the main engine of the national economy in Syria. This research aims to apply total quality management (TQM) to industrial banks of Syria. A random sample of 120 bank employees from higher and middle management were selected to investigate the current situation of TQM in the bank and to develop a new suitable TQM Model. The results show the levels of implementing TQM criteria in the industrial bank, and provide a proposed TQM Model with an implementation plan that could help other Syrian banks to apply TQM in an effective way.

A proposed model for applying total quality management in Syrian banks: a case study in the industrial bank of Syria

The main purpose of this research is the degree of Application of faculty members in the Yemeni universities' of principles' Total Quality Management. The degree is the application of the principles of total quality management in administrative work by members of the faculty of the Universities of Yemen, from the analysis there is no significant difference at the level of significance (α = 0.05) for the respondents about their perceived of the principle of the Total Quality Management in Yemeni universities based on the qualification, career center and university. This research will use a survey with questionnaire to collecting the data. The findingsof this study show that the degree of application offaculty membersintheYemeni universities of Total Quality Managementof, the result ofthe application of the concept of total quality management in a medium, and the reason is due to lack of interest in the leadership of universities, the concept of quality and lack of financial capabilities and scientific and not keep pace with global changes, but the attention of a boy found some faculty members on the application of certain concepts of total quality management and theno wasstatistical difference variables ofqualification, career center and the presence ofstatistical difference variable of the university.
