Restoration of the tumor suppressor function to mutant p53 by a low-molecular-weight compound
Vladimir J.N. Bykov,Natalia Issaeva,Alexandre Shilov,Monica Hultcrantz,Elena N. Pugacheva,Peter M. Chumakov,Jan Bergman,Klas G. Wiman,Galina Selivanova +8 more
TL;DR: This work found one compound capable of inducing apoptosis in human tumor cells through restoration of the transcriptional transactivation function to mutant p53, named PRIMA-1, which rescued both DNA contact and structural p53 mutants in vitro and in living cells.
Reactivation of mutant p53 and induction of apoptosis in human tumor cells by maleimide analogs
Vladimir J.N. Bykov,Natalia Issaeva,Nicole Zache,Alexandre Shilov,Monica Hultcrantz,Jan Bergman,Galina Selivanova,Klas G. Wiman +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated here that the maleimide-derived molecule MIRA-1 can reactivate DNA binding and preserve the active conformation of mutant p53 protein in vitro and restore transcriptional transactivation to mutant p 53 in living cells.

A rare case of thymus lipofbroadenoma
TL;DR: In this article , a rare case of a benign neoplasm of the thymus, lipofibroadenoma (LFA), was localized in the left pleural cavity and originated from the anterior mediastinum with partial compression of the lower lobe of the left lung in a 59-year-old man.
