TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of others on a young person's help-seeking behavior was investigated. But the influence was not significant in the case of online help seeking, and the influence had little bearing on the young person intention to seek help.
Do dysfunctional coping modes mediate the relationship between perceived parenting style and disordered eating behaviours
TL;DR: The findings suggest that Overcompensatory, Avoidant and Surrender coping mechanisms all appear to play a role in the maintenance of eating disorder symptoms, and that there are multiple complex relationships between these and Early Maladaptive Schemas that warrant further investigation.
