Integrating Face-ID into an Interactive Person-ID Learning System
Stephan Konn,Hartwig Holzapfel,Hazim Kemal Ekenel,Alex Waibel +3 more
- 01 Jan 2007
TL;DR: An approach for face-ID recognition and identifica- tion over image sequences and its integration into the interactive system is described and the usage of confidence scores is explored to allow other system components to estimate the accuracy of face- ID hypotheses.

Continuous Speech Recognition with the Connectionist Viterbi Training Procedure: A Summary of Recent Work
M. Franzini,Alex Waibel,Kai-Fu Lee +2 more
- 17 Sep 1991
TL;DR: The work reported here represents the culmination of three years of investigation of various means by which HMMs and neural networks (NNs) can be combined for continuous speech recognition.

Improving in-domain data selection for small in-domain sets.
Mohammed Mediani,Joshua Winebarger,Alex Waibel +2 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: This work improves the procedure for drawing the outof-domain sample data used for selection, and uses word-associations in order to extend the underlying vocabulary of the sample language models used for scoring to compensate for the limited availability of in-domain data.

Low-Latency Neural Speech Translation
TL;DR: It is shown that NMT systems can be adapted to scenarios where no task-specific training data is available, and the number of corrections displayed during incremental output construction is reduced by 45%, without a decrease in translation quality.
