Structure and dynamics of the membrane attaching nitric oxide transporter nitrophorin 7.
Markus Knipp,Hideaki Ogata,Giancarlo Soavi,Giulio Cerullo,Alessandro Allegri,Stefania Abbruzzetti,Stefania Abbruzzetti,Stefano Bruno,Cristiano Viappiani,Cristiano Viappiani,Axel Bidon-Chanal,Francisco J. Luque +11 more
TL;DR: The topological distribution of pockets located around the heme as well as from inner cavities present at the rear of the protein provides a distinctive feature in NP7, so that while a loop gated exit mechanism to the solvent has been proposed for most nitrophorins, a more complex mechanism that involves several interconnected gas hosting cavities is proposed for NP7.
Kinetics and computational studies of ligand migration in nitrophorin 7 and its Δ1-3 mutant.
Ana Oliveira,Alessandro Allegri,Axel Bidon-Chanal,Markus Knipp,Adrian E. Roitberg,Stefania Abbruzzetti,Cristiano Viappiani,F. Javier Luque +7 more
TL;DR: Examining the influence of the N-terminus on the ligand binding, and the topological features of inner cavities in closed and open states of NP7, provides a basis to explain the enhanced internal gas hosting capacity found experimentally in NP7 and the absence of ligand rebinding from secondary sites in NP4.

Temperature-Dependent Activity of Gold Nanocatalysts Supported on Activated Carbon in Redox Catalytic Reactions: 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural Oxidation and 4-Nitrophenol Reduction Comparison
Stefano Scurti,Alessandro Allegri,Francesca Liuzzi,Elena Rodríguez-Aguado,Juan Antonio Cecilia,Stefania Albonetti,Daniele Caretti,Nikolaos Dimitratos +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , a series of colloidal gold catalysts supported on activated carbon and titania were prepared by the sol immobilization method employing polyvinyl alcohol as a polymeric stabilizer at different hydrolysis degrees.
Electrostatic Tuning of the Ligand Binding Mechanism by Glu27 in Nitrophorin 7.
Stefania Abbruzzetti,Alessandro Allegri,Axel Bidon-Chanal,Hideaki Ogata,Hideaki Ogata,Giancarlo Soavi,Giulio Cerullo,Stefano Bruno,Chiara Montali,F. Javier Luque,Cristiano Viappiani +10 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that Glu27 exerts a through-space electrostatic action on Asp32, which shifts the pKa of the latter amino acid towards more acidic values thus reducing the pH sensitivity of the transition between open and closed states.
Ti/Zr/O Mixed Oxides for the Catalytic Transfer Hydrogenation of Furfural to GVL in a Liquid-Phase Continuous-Flow Reactor
Anna Saotta,Alessandro Allegri,Francesca Liuzzi,Giuseppe Fornasari,Nikolaos Dimitratos,Stefania Albonetti +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper , an efficient catalyst for the cascade reaction from furfural to γ-valerolactone in a liquid-phase continuous reactor is developed, which requires both Lewis and Brønsted acidity; hence, a bifunctional catalyst is necessary to complete the one-pot reaction.
