The Mechanism of Injury-Induced Intracellular Calcium Concentration Oscillations in the Endothelium of Excised Rat Aorta
Roberto Berra-Romani,Abdul Raqeeb,Julián Torres-Jácome,Alejandro Guzman-Silva,Germano Guerra,Franco Tanzi,Francesco Moccia +6 more
TL;DR: These data show for the first time that the coordinated interplay between NCX-mediated Ca2+ entry and InsP3-dependent Ca-dependent release contributes to injury-induced intracellular Ca-induced concentration oscillations.
Type 2 Diabetes Alters Intracellular Ca2+ Handling in Native Endothelium of Excised Rat Aorta
Roberto Berra-Romani,Alejandro Guzman-Silva,Ajelet Vargaz-Guadarrama,Juan Carlos Flores-Alonso,José Alonso-Romero,Samuel Treviño,Josué Sánchez-Gómez,Nayeli Coyotl-Santiago,Mario García-Carrasco,Francesco Moccia +9 more
TL;DR: Analyzing for the first time the Ca2+ response to the physiological autacoid ATP in native aortic endothelium of obese Zucker diabetic fatty (OZDF) rats and their lean controls, which are termed LZDF rats sheds new light on the mechanisms by which type 2 diabetes mellitus may cause endothelial dysfunction by remodeling the intracellular Ca 2+ toolkit.

Na+–Ca2+ exchanger contributes to Ca2+extrusion in ATP-stimulated endothelium of intact rat aorta
Roberto Berra-Romani,Abdul Raqeeb,Alejandro Guzman-Silva,Julián Torres-Jácome,Franco Tanzi,Francesco Moccia +5 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the involvement of NCX into the Ca(2+) signals elicited by ATP in intact endothelium of rat aorta shows that, within the same preparation, NCX operates in both modes, depending on the chemical nature of the extracellular stimulus.

Lung Beractant Increases Free Cytosolic Levels of Ca2+ in Human Lung Fibroblasts.
Alejandro Guzman-Silva,Luis G. Vázquez de Lara,Julián Torres-Jácome,Ajelet Vargaz-Guadarrama,Marycruz Flores-Flores,Elias Pezzat Said,Alfredo Lagunas-Martínez,Criselda Mendoza-Milla,Franco Tanzi,Francesco Moccia,Roberto Berra-Romani +10 more
TL;DR: Beractant utilizes SOCE to exert its pro-apoptotic and antifibrinogenic effect on NHLF and Pharmacological manipulation revealed that beractant activates a Ca2+ signal throughCa2+ release from intracellular stores mediated by phospholipase Cβ (PLCβ), Ca2- release from inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors (IP3Rs) and Ca2+.
Mutation of putative phosphorylation sites in the free fatty acid receptor 1: Effects on signaling, receptor phosphorylation, and internalization
Alejandro Guzman-Silva,Juan Carlos Martínez-Morales,Luz del Carmen Medina,M. Teresa Romero-Ávila,Socrates Villegas-Comonfort,K.H. Solís,J. Adolfo García-Sáinz +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of ligand changes on the carboxyl terminus of the free fatty acid receptor 1 (FFA1) were studied using mutants, including a mutant with T215V in the third intracellular loop (3IL), another with changes in the C-term (C-term): T287V, T293V, S298A, and a third-term mutant with all of these changes.
