Plant functional connectivity – integrating landscape structure and effective dispersal
Alistair G. Auffret,Alistair G. Auffret,Yessica Rico,James M. Bullock,Danny A. P. Hooftman,Robin J. Pakeman,Merel B. Soons,Alberto Suárez-Esteban,Alberto Suárez-Esteban,Anna Traveset,Helene H. Wagner,Sara A. O. Cousins +11 more
TL;DR: This work uses recent advances in dispersal, landscape and molecular ecology to describe how a range of external factors can influence effective dispersal in plant species, and how the resulting functional connectivity can be assessed.

Barriers or corridors? The overlooked role of unpaved roads in endozoochorous seed dispersal
TL;DR: Given the extremely high density of SLD world-wide, SLD hold a significant overlooked role for management and plant conservation actions and must be weighed up against potential spread of alien or undesirable plant species, but it is demonstrated the SLD represent a valuable management tool.

Can anthropogenic linear gaps increase plant abundance and diversity
Alberto Suárez-Esteban,Alberto Suárez-Esteban,Lenore Fahrig,Miguel Delibes,José M. Fedriani,José M. Fedriani +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the evidence for the potential of anthropogenic linear gaps to increase plant abundance and diversity, and for the mechanisms involved, and found that linear gaps and their verges may provide more suitable conditions for plant establishment than neighboring habitats.
