Cytotoxic CD8+ T cells promote granzyme B-dependent adverse post-ischemic cardiac remodeling.
Icía Santos-Zas,Jeremie Lemarié,Ivana Zlatanova,Marine Cachanado,Jean-Christophe Seghezzi,Benamer H,Pascal Goube,Marie Vandestienne,Raphael Cohen,Maya Ezzo,Vincent Duval,Yujiao Zhang,Jin-Bo Su,Alain Bizé,Lucien Sambin,Philippe Bonnin,Maxime Branchereau,Christophe Heymes,Corinne Tanchot,José Vilar,Clément Delacroix,Jean-Sébastien Hulot,Clément Cochain,Patrick Bruneval,Nicolas Danchin,Alain Tedgui,Ziad Mallat,Ziad Mallat,Tabassome Simon,Bijan Ghaleh,Jean-Sébastien Silvestre,Hafid Ait-Oufella +31 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that following acute myocardial infarction in mice, CD8+ T lymphocytes are recruited and activated in the ischemic heart tissue and release Granzyme B, leading to cardiomyocyte apoptosis, adverse ventricular remodeling and deterioration of myocardia.
Rapid cooling preserves the ischaemic myocardium against mitochondrial damage and left ventricular dysfunction
Renaud Tissier,N. Couvreur,N. Couvreur,N. Couvreur,Bijan Ghaleh,Bijan Ghaleh,Bijan Ghaleh,Patrick Bruneval,Fanny Lidouren,Fanny Lidouren,Fanny Lidouren,Didier Morin,Didier Morin,Didier Morin,Roland Zini,Roland Zini,Roland Zini,Alain Bizé,Alain Bizé,Alain Bizé,Mourad Chenoune,Mourad Chenoune,Mourad Chenoune,Marie-France Belair,Chantal Mandet,Martine Douheret,Jean-Luc Dubois-Randé,Jean-Luc Dubois-Randé,James C. Parker,Michael V. Cohen,James M. Downey,Alain Berdeaux,Alain Berdeaux,Alain Berdeaux +33 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated whether rapid cooling instituted by total liquid ventilation (TLV) improves cardiac and mitochondrial function in rabbits submitted to ischaemia-reperfusion.

Noninvasive Imaging of the Coronary Vasculature Using Ultrafast Ultrasound.
David Maresca,Mafalda Correia,Olivier Villemain,Alain Bizé,Lucien Sambin,Mickael Tanter,Bijan Ghaleh,Mathieu Pernot,Mathieu Pernot +8 more
TL;DR: Investigating the potential of coronary ultrafast Doppler angiography (CUDA), a novel vascular imaging technique based on ultrafast ultrasound, to image noninvasively with high sensitivity the intramyocardial coronary vasculature and quantify the coronary blood flow dynamics revealed the presence of strong hyperemia and the appearance of abnormal coronary vessel structures.

Differential effects of postconditioning on myocardial stunning and infarction: a study in conscious dogs and anesthetized rabbits
TL;DR: Contrary to its beneficial effects on myocardial infarction, postconditioning does not protect against myocardia-reperfusion stunning in dogs and rabbits.

Vascular endothelial dysfunction in Duchenne muscular dystrophy is restored by bradykinin through upregulation of eNOS and nNOS
Hubert Dabiré,Inès Barthélémy,Inès Barthélémy,Nicolas Blanchard-Gutton,Nicolas Blanchard-Gutton,Lucien Sambin,Carolina Carlos Sampedrano,Vassiliki Gouni,Yves Unterfinger,Yves Unterfinger,Pablo Aguilar,Pablo Aguilar,Jean-Laurent Thibaud,Jean-Laurent Thibaud,Bijan Ghaleh,Bijan Ghaleh,Alain Bizé,Alain Bizé,Jean-Louis Pouchelon,Jean-Louis Pouchelon,S. Blot,S. Blot,Alain Berdeaux,Alain Berdeaux,Luc Hittinger,Luc Hittinger,Valérie Chetboul,Valérie Chetboul,Jin Bo Su +28 more
TL;DR: This study is the first to demonstrate that DMD is associated with NO-mediated vascular endothelial dysfunction linked to an altered expression of eNOS and nNOS, which can be overcome by bradykinin.
