Transfer of Hyphomicrobium indicum to the genus Photobacterium as Photobacterium indicum comb. nov.
Cheng-Hui Xie,Akira Yokota +1 more
TL;DR: Phylogenetic analyses of 16S rRNA and gyrB gene sequences revealed that H. indicum is most closely related to the genus Photobacterium of the gamma-Proteobacteria, and based on the phylogenetic, phenotypic and chemotaxonomic evidence, the results indicate that it should be transferred to the species Photobacteria nov.

Four New Species of the Genus Actinokineospora: Actinokineospora inagensis sp. nov., Actinokineospora globicatena sp. nov., Actinokineospora terrae sp. nov., and Actinokineospora diospyrosa sp. nov.
TL;DR: Four new species of the genus Actinokineospora are proposed for these strains of motile actinomycetes isolated from soil and fallen leaves obtained from around a pond and a lake and from fallen leaves of persimmons.

Phylogenetic analyses of the nitrogen-fixing genus Derxia.
Cheng-Hui Xie,Akira Yokota +1 more
TL;DR: The data on high G+C content, the cellular fatty acid composition, and the physiological characteristics of facultative hydrogen autotrophy and nitrogen fixation are unique for Derxia, which reveals that Derxia is not grouped with any known family of beta-Proteobacteria and should be placed as a separate genus.

Sphingobacterium thermophilum sp. nov., of the phylum Bacteroidetes, isolated from compost.
TL;DR: According to the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, strain CKTN2(T) represents a novel species of the genus Sphingobacterium, for which the name SphingOBacterium thermophilum sp.

Diversity of Alicyclobacillus isolated from fruit juices and their raw materials, and emended description of Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius
Keiichi Goto,Kaoru Mochida,Yuko Kato,Mika Asahara,Chieko Ozawa,Hiroaki Kasai,Akira Yokota +6 more
- 01 Jun 2006
TL;DR: A high level of diversity within species in the genus Alicyclobacillus with regards to both phenotype and genotype is indicated, and sequence analyses of the 16S rRNA and partial gyrB genes revealed that, in a few strains, the phylogeny derived from both molecules was not consistent.
