Direct covalent bond formation between materials using copper(I)-catalyzed azide alkyne cycloaddition reactions
TL;DR: Direct adhesion of materials is realized using the CuAAC reaction in which a poly(acrylamide) gel (pAAm gel) modified with a pendent terminal ethynyl group (E-gel) selectively adheres to the pAAm Gel with a swinging azide group (Az-gel).
Mechano-Responsive Hydrogels Driven by the Dissociation of a Host–Guest Complex
TL;DR: The hydrogel demonstrated a decrease in transmittance when mechanical stress was applied at a temperature above its LCST, indicating that the phase transition of the thermoresponsive polymer was induced by the dissociation of the host-guest complex under mechanical stress.

Organic Ferromagnetism and Antiferromagnetism of 4-Methacryloyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl and 4-Acryloyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl.
Hiroyuki Sugimoto,Hiroyuki Aota,Akira Harada,Yotaro Morishima,Mikiharu Kamachi,Wasuke Mori,Michihiko Kishita,N. Ohmae,Motohiro Nakano,Michio Sorai +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibilities for 4-methacryloyloxy- and 4-acryyloylox-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl (MOTMP and AOTMP, respectively) was measured.

Synthesis of a Water-soluble Iridium(III) Complex with pH and Metal Cation Sensitive Photoluminescence
TL;DR: A water-soluble iridium complex with bulky ligands was synthesized in this paper, which was shown to be stronger in basic aqueous solutions than that in organic solvents.

Observing Supernova Neutrino Light Curves with Super-Kamiokande: II. Impact of the Nuclear Equation of State
Ken'ichiro Nakazato,Fumi Nakanishi,Masayuki Harada,Yusuke Koshio,Yudai Suwa,Kohsuke Sumiyoshi,Akira Harada,Masamitsu Mori,R. A. Wendell +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the late-time evolution of the neutrino event rate from supernovae is evaluated for Super-Kamiokande using simulated results of proto-neutron star cooling.
