Compositional Dynamics of the Milk Fat Globule and Its Role in Infant Development.
Hanna Lee,Emily M.T. Padhi,Yu Hasegawa,Jules A. Larke,Mariana Parenti,Aidong Wang,Olle Hernell,Bo Lönnerdal,Carolyn M. Slupsky +8 more
TL;DR: The structure of the MFG and bioactive components of the MFGM may benefit the infant by aiding in the structural and functional maturation of the gut through the provision of essential nutrients and/or regulating various cellular events during infant growth and immune education.
Differences in the Fecal Metabolome and Microbiome Between Exclusive and Partial Breastfed Infants are More Pronounced at 2 Months Compared to 5 Months
Aidong Wang,Aly Diana,Sofa Rahmannia,Rosalind S. Gibson,Lisa A Houghton,Carolyn M. Slupsky +5 more
- 01 Jun 2020
TL;DR: Indigenous gut microbes, especially Bifidobacterium were higher in EBF infants at age 2 months even though not statistically significant, however, this difference was eliminated at age 5 months.
