Antarctic icebergs reorganize ocean circulation during Pleistocene glacials.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate that a shift in iceberg trajectories during glacial periods can result in a considerable redistribution of freshwater in the Southern Ocean, in concert with increased sea-ice cover, enabled positive buoyancy anomalies to "escape" into the upper limb of the AMOC, providing a teleconnection between surface Southern Ocean conditions and the formation of NADW.
Neodymium isotope evidence for coupled Southern Ocean circulation and Antarctic climate throughout the last 118,000 years
TL;DR: The role of Southern Ocean paleocirculation changes is poorly constrained, in part, owing to a paucity of sedimentary records from this region as discussed by the authors, and the role of the Southern Ocean in the initiation and intensification of the last glacial cycle remain relatively poorly understood.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present new biomarker records of upper water column temperature ( and ) and primary productivity (chlorins and alkenones) from marine sediments at IODP Site U1475 on the Agulhas Plateau, near the Subtropical Front (STF) and within the agulhas retroflection pathway.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sedimentary record from the Agulhas Plateau, located close to the modern position of the subtropical front and using alkenones and coccolith assemblages to reconstruct oceanographic conditions over the past 300,000 years was analyzed.
