Reduction of extrinsic defects in ZnSe:perovskite composites based solar devices

Cu0.98V0.02S and Cu0.96V0.02M0.02S (M ≡ Co, Mg, Mn, Ni) samples were created using the solid reaction method at low temperature. The search match program X’Pert HighScore Plus was used to identify the different phases in each sample. The phase proportions of the two phases identified, Cu1.8S and CuS, along with their structural parameters were determined applying Rietveld refinement analysis. The transmittance electron microscope technique revealed that the samples have homogeneous particle morphology with spherical shape and size ranging from 7 to 30 nm. Raman analysis indicates the incorporation of the transition metals inside the copper sulfide lattices replacing Cu substitutional at its different crystallographic sites, at least partially. The optical absorbance spectra of all samples were obtained using the diffuse reflectance technique. All samples have the potential to effectively harness visible light. All samples have two optical band gaps. With the introduction of various metals (Co, Mg, Mn, Ni) to Cu0.96V0.02M0.02S samples, the primary band gap of the Cu0.98V0.02S sample is reduced to 1.36, 1.44, 1.31, and 1.41 eV for Co, Mg, Mn, Ni, respectively. The secondary band gap value undergoes minimal variations ranging from 0.63 to 0.66 eV based on the dopant element utilized. The outcomes of experiments on hydrogen evolution involving nano- Cu0.96V0.02M0.02S samples as a catalyst derived from the methanolysis of NaBH4 process are performed. The impact of Cu0.96V0.02Co0.02S nanoparticles on the hydrogen rate of generation is also determined. The maximum generation rate is detected for the Cu0.96V0.02Co0.02S sample at 50,220 mL min− 1 g− 1, which manifested excellent recyclability. The activation energy of Cu0.96V0.02Co0.02S in the methanolysis of NaBH4 was calculated to be E_a=28.13 kJ/mol applying the Arrhenius equation.

The remarkable photoelectric characteristics of perovskite nanocrystals (NCs), including
high fault tolerance, tunable photoluminescence (PL) emission, and high carrier mobility,
contribute to making them especially attractive for photonic and optoelectronic applications.
Unfortunately, the poor environmental thermal and light stability set obstacles to their industrial
applications. Over the past 40 years, II-VI semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have achieved
many important photophysics findings and optoelectronic applications. Compared with perovskite
NCs, II-VI semiconductor QDs still have a relatively weaker molar absorbance coefficient.
Whereas, significant enhancement of both the stability and the optical performance of the composites
of perovskite NCs and II-VI QDs are of interest for photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices.
The composites of perovskite NCs and II-VI QDs come in two primary types: core/shell
structures and heterojunction structures. To better understand the composites of perovskite NCs
and II-VI QDs, the approaches of synthesis methods, their optoelectronic properties, carrier dynamics
and potential applications in solar cells, light emitting diodes (LEDs) and photodetectors
are summarized. Furthermore, the unmet problems and the potential applications are also presented.


Recent Progress in the Composites of Perovskite Nanocrystals and II-VI Quantum Dots: Their Synthesis, Applications, and Prospects

Surface optimization of metal halide perovskite solar cells using ZnS nanorods

This study used spray pyrolysis to create CdO films that were undoped and doped with Cu at varied concentrations (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5%). The materials' polycrystalline cubic nature is confirmed by XRD examination. Rietveld refinement was used to get the lattice constant. In terms of energy dispersive more about the chemical makeup of materials. The structure, morphological, optical, and electrical properties of the film were investigated using the (XRD), (SEM), UV- spectrophotometer, and Hall arrangement. The band optical gaps, opt E g , of the CdO:Cu films were observed to decrease as the quantity of Cu doping increased. Also, effective Cu doping enhances the electrical characteristics of CdO, as shown by the film's 3 % resistivity. The carrier concentration is approximately 5x1020 of that 2.25x1020 of the undoped film, whereas the amount of Cu doping is approximately ten of that of the CdO film. To increase both optical and electrical properties in a variety of optoelectronic device applications, Cu-CdO films can be used as Transparent Conducting Oxide (TCO) materials.

Investigations into the structural, morphology and optoelectronics properties of the CdO:Cu films produced by spray pyrolysis

Copper sulfide nanoparticles have a wide range of applications in various fields, and improving their physical properties is highly desirable. In this study, we investigate the influence of nickel concentrations on the structural, optical, and magnetic characteristics of CuS nanoparticles. The structural properties of Cu1-xNixS (x = 0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, and 0.10) were demonstrated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), which confirmed that all samples have a single hexagonal phase. The Energy Dispersive X-ray Technique (EDAX) was used to investigate the elemental analysis of Cu1-xNixS. The XPS study revealed the valence states of Cu, Ni, and S in the Cu0.94Ni0.06S nanoparticles, as well as surface oxidation. The optical characteristics were calculated based on the absorbance optical spectra of the films using a UV-vis-NIR double-beam spectrophotometer in the wavelength range of 400–1000 nm. The optical band gap for CuS and Ni-doped CuS samples decreases as the Ni concentration rises. Magnetic studies (using the M-H curve) demonstrate that 2% and 4% Ni-doped CuS nanoparticles exhibit strong ferromagnetism at ambient temperature and transition to a paramagnetic nature. These results suggest the potential of creating spintronic devices using Ni-doped CuS nanoparticles.
