Variability of dental cone beam CT grey values for density estimations.
Ruben Pauwels,Olivia Nackaerts,Norbert Bellaiche,Harry Stamatakis,Kostas Tsiklakis,Adrian Walker,Hilde Bosmans,Ria Bogaerts,Reinhilde Jacobs,Keith Horner +9 more
TL;DR: Although it could be possible to obtain pseudo-Hounsfield units from certain CBCTs, alternative methods of assessing bone tissue should be further investigated as large errors can be seen when using the grey values in a quantitative way.

Development and applicability of a quality control phantom for dental cone-beam CT.
Ruben Pauwels,Harry Stamatakis,Giorgos Manousaridis,Adrian Walker,Koen Michielsen,Hilde Bosmans,Ria Bogaerts,Reinhilde Jacobs,Keith Horner,Kostas Tsiklakis +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) cylindrical phantom with inserts for image quality analysis was developed for CBCT imaging modality for various dentomaxillofacial applications.

Comparison of spatial and contrast resolution for cone-beam computed tomography scanners
Ruben Pauwels,Jilke Beinsberger,Harry Stamatakis,Kostas Tsiklakis,Adrian Walker,Hilde Bosmans,Ria Bogaerts,Reinhilde Jacobs,Keith Horner +8 more
TL;DR: Evaluating the perceived spatial and contrast resolution for a wide range of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) devices found them generally suitable for the visualization of high-contrast structures.
