Chronic Effects of Static Stretching Exercises on Muscle Strength and Power in Healthy Individuals Across the Lifespan: A Systematic Review with Multi-level Meta-analysis
Fabian Arntz,Adrian Markov,David G. Behm,Martin Behrens,Yassine Negra,Masatoshi Nakamura,Jason Moran,Helmi Chaabene +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the chronic effects of static stretching exercises on muscle strength and power as well as flexibility in healthy individuals across the lifespan were examined by a systematic review with meta-analysis of (randomized) controlled trials.
Effects of Concurrent Strength and Endurance Training on Measures of Physical Fitness in Healthy Middle-Aged and Older Adults: A Systematic Review with Meta-Analysis
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of concurrent training (CT) on measures of physical fitness in older adults were examined and the effect of CT on muscle strength, power, balance and cognitive ability was identified.
Why Flexibility Deserves to Be Further Considered as a Standard Component of Physical Fitness: A Narrative Review of Existing Insights from Static Stretching Study Interventions
TL;DR: In this article , a literature search was conducted using the electronic databases PubMed, SPORTDiscus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar up to November 2022 to summarize and discuss the most recent evidence related to the chronic effects of static stretching on muscle strength, muscle power, muscle hypertrophy, and injury prevention in healthy individuals.
Overnight Immune Regulation and Subjective Measures of Sleep: A Three Night Observational Study in Adolescent Track and Field Athletes.

- 28 Sep 2021
TL;DR: In this article, an observational study aimed to examine associations between changes in capillary immunological blood markers and measures of sleep in adolescent athletes and found significant decreases in white blood cell count (WBC), granulocytes (GRAN), granulate granulocyte-lymphocyte-ratio (GRL), monocytes (MID), and lymphocytes (β = -0.491), while the systemic inflammation index showed no difference from post-training to the next morning.
Acute effects of concurrent muscle power and sport-specific endurance exercises on markers of immunological stress response and measures of muscular fitness in highly trained youth male athletes
Adrian Markov,Jens Bussweiler,Norman Helm,Fabian Arntz,Thomas Steidten,Lars Krohm,Arnau Sacot,Philipp Baumert,Christian Puta,Helmi Chaabene +9 more
TL;DR: In this article , the acute effects of concurrent muscle power and sport-specific endurance exercises order on immunological stress responses, muscular-fitness, and rating-of-perceived-exertion (RPE) in highly trained youth male judo athletes were examined.
