A novel cross-satellite based assessment of the spatio-temporal development of a cyanobacterial harmful algal bloom
TL;DR: This study demonstrates a novel and potentially operational cross-satellite based protocol for synoptic monitoring of rapidly evolving and increasingly common CyanoHABs in inland waters and suggests a complex interaction between landscape processes, climatic conditions, and water quality which created a supportive environment for triggering these blooms in Utah Lake.

Interannual and cyclone-driven variability in phytoplankton communities of a tropical coastal lagoon
Suchismita Srichandan,Ji Yoon Kim,Abhishek Kumar,Deepak R. Mishra,Punyasloke Bhadury,Pradipta R. Muduli,Ajit K. Pattnaik,Gurdeep Rastogi +7 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the interannual and cyclone-derived variability in phytoplankton communities of Chilika, the largest tropical coastal lagoon in Asia and the underlying mechanisms in relation to environmental forcing identified specific responses of phy toplankon taxa to the different salinity regime of lagoon.

Remote monitoring of sediment dynamics in a coastal lagoon: Long-term spatio-temporal variability of suspended sediment in Chilika
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a comprehensive analysis of sediment dynamics in a coastal lagoon by synthesizing various remote sensing datasets, including MODIS daily 250m surface reflectance (MOD09GQ) and 8-day composite products.

Water quality assessment of the Ganges River during COVID-19 lockdown.
Pradipta R. Muduli,Abhishek Kumar,Vishnu Vardhan Kanuri,Deepak R. Mishra,Prasannajit Acharya,Rita Saha,M K Biswas,A. K. Vidyarthi,A. Sudhakar +8 more
TL;DR: Ganges River water quality was assessed to record the changes due to the nation-wide pandemic lockdown as discussed by the authors, which revealed that the water quality of the Ganges improved with reference to specific water quality parameters, but the improvements were region specific.
