The dynamic history of gymnosperm plastomes: Insights from structural characterization, comparative analysis, phylogenomics, and time divergence.
Lubna,Sajjad Asaf,Abdul Latif Khan,Rahmatullah Jan,Arif Khan,Adil Khan,Kyung-Min Kim,In-Jung Lee +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed 167 available gymnosperm plastomes and investigated their diversity and phylogeny, finding that plastome size, structure, and gene order were highly variable in the five extant gymnosperms.

Effects of plant-derived smoke on the growth dynamics of Barnyard Grass (Echinochloa crus-galli)
Muhammad Kamran,Abdul Latif Khan,Muhammad Waqas,Qari Muhammad Imran,Muhammad Hamayun,Sang-Mo Kang,Yoon Ha Kim,Min-Ji Kim,In-Jung Lee +8 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that stimulation and quick emergence from a dormant soil seed bank of barnyard grass can be induced by plant-derived smoke solution followed by chemical control through known weedicide/herbicide treatments as an eco-friendly alternative method of weed control.

Spectroscopic and Molecular Methods to Differentiate Gender in Immature Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.).
Abdul Latif Khan,Ahmed Al-Harrasi,Muhammad Numan,Noor Mazin Abdulkareem,Fazal Mabood,Ahmed Al-Rawahi +5 more
- 12 Mar 2021
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used NIRS/FTIR reflectance and 1H-NMR profiling to identify the sex differentiation in immature date palm leaves and showed that the signals of monosaccharides (glucose and fructose) and disaccharide (maltose and sucrose) play key roles in sex differentiation.

Phytochemical and pharmacological investigation of Teucrium muscatense
Najeeb Ur Rehman,Jawaher Mohammad Salim Al-Sahai,Hidayat Hussain,Abdul Latif Khan,Syed Amir Gilani,Ghulam Abbas,Javid Hussain,Jamal Nasser Al Sabahi,Ahmed Al-Harrasi +8 more
TL;DR: The effect of enzyme inhibition, anticancer, antifungal, antioxidants activities of the extracts of Teucrium muscatense obtained with different organic solvents was investigated as discussed by the authors.

The Plastome Sequences of Triticum sphaerococcum (ABD) and Triticum turgidum subsp. durum (AB) Exhibit Evolutionary Changes, Structural Characterization, Comparative Analysis, Phylogenomics and Time Divergence
Lubna,Sajjad Asaf,Rahmat Jan,Abdul Latif Khan,Waqar Ahmad,Saleem Asif,Ahmed Al-Harrasi,Kyungmin Kim,In-Jung Lee +8 more
TL;DR: The complete plastomes of two polyploid wheat species, Triticum sphaerococcum and T. turgidum subsp.
