Application of negative binomial regression models to the analysis of quantal bioassays data
TL;DR: In this article, the problem of developing an approach for modelling the response of an organism to chronic toxicity is discussed and illustrated by studying the toxic effect of NaBr on the reproduction process of a population of Daphnia magna.

Spatial characterization of acidification related parameters in sensitive regions of Atlantic Canada
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the division of each set of lakes into several groups, with lakes in a group having similar water quality parameter values, by means of cluster analysis and principal component ordination.

Guidelines for indicator bacteria in waters: uncertainties in applications
Abdel H. El-Shaarawi,J. Marsalek +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared two Canadian guidelines for microbiological recreational water quality and found that the Ontario guideline is more conservative than the federal guideline when the number of samples analysed is less than 15 and the reverse is true for larger sample sizes.

Maximum microbiological contaminant levels
TL;DR: In this paper, the United States Drinking Water Regulations (DWR) were expressed in statistical terms and examined their probabilistic characteristics both analytically and by simulations, and it was shown that only an upper limit on the mean coliform count is basically sufficient for DWR.
