Rate-Limited Transport of Hydroxyatrazine in an Unsaturated Soil
TL;DR: In this article, an intact soil core was conducted under two different soil pressure heads, -8 and -19 cm, to characterize chemical sorption and desorption for hydroxyatrazine.

Strain and Function Stability in Gnotobiotic Reactors
Aaron L. Mills,Judith E. Bouma +1 more
- 01 Jan 1997
TL;DR: The ability of the community level physiological profiling approach to analyzing microbial community structure was examined in a constructed community and persistence of strains in a community did not guarantee persistence of metabolic functions which those strains could perform.

Microbial ecology and acidic pollution of impoundments
Aaron L. Mills,Alan T. Herlihy +1 more
- 01 Jan 1985
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the role of bacterial sulfate reduction in acid mine drainage and acid precipitaion in acidification of impoundments and showed that bacterial sulfates can effectively neutralize acid pollution if the alkalinity is not consumed by CO2 fixation during reoxidation of the reduced sulfur species.

The geochemical effects of benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) biodegradation
TL;DR: In this paper, the geochemical effects of microbially mediated degradation of aromatic hydrocarbons were observed as changes in solution composition of an artificial groundwater in packed-sand laboratory columns.
