Explicit Convection and Scale-Aware Cumulus Parameterizations: High-Resolution Simulations over Areas of Different Topography in Germany
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated further potential benefits with respect to precipitation, based on a small ensemble of high-resolution simulations with WRF with grid spacings up to 1 km, and evaluated the temporal and spatial performance of the simulation of precipitation of one year over both a mountainous region in southwestern Germany and a mainly flat region in northern Germany.

Joint statistical correction of clutters, spokes and beam height for a radar derived precipitation climatology in southern Germany
TL;DR: In this article, a new statistical post-correction scheme based on a climatological analysis of seven years of radar data of the Munich weather radar (2000-2006) operated by DWD (German Weather Service) is presented.
5 year radar-based rainfall statistics: disturbances analysis and development of a post-correction scheme for the German radar composite
TL;DR: In this paper, a post-correction scheme for long-term composite radar data that corrects corrupted areas, but preserves the original precipitation patterns is developed based on a 5 year statistical analysis of radar composite data and its constituents.
Modelling daily precipitation features in the Volta Basin of West Africa
TL;DR: In this paper, the combination of a conventional Markov chain model (zero and first order) and a gamma distribution model are found to be applicable to derive meaningful agricultural features from precipitation in the Volta Basin (West Africa).
