Means of increasing the wear resistance of burnishing tools with mineral–ceramic and hard-alloy indenters are considered. Indenter designs that optimize the cost and quality of burnishing by means of a rigidly attached tool are discussed.

Roughness is an important factor in the working properties of instruments. Roughness determines such working properties as durability, wear resistance from detritions, density of combinations, chemical fortitude and appearance. A method for evaluating the roughness of wear–resistant electric-spark coatings on a metal cutting instrument and a specimen of fast-cutting steel is a complex parameter of roughness (Δ). Complex parameter of roughness (Δ) allows more accurately estimating the surface roughness after smoothing the mineral ceramics of an electrophysical coating and others types of surface treatment.

The development of prospects for the modification of gas tankers (gt) is a priority area associated with the active development of the Arctic zone (AZ). The development of natural gas (ng) transportation (T) in the article based on the projection obtained of the methodology application of the system operator (SO) of the theory of inventive problem solving. The study and transfer of the problems that changed the transport system (TS) for the T of unique resources in the past allowed us to form a transfer from the present to a possible modification of the TS for the T of a unique resource (ng) by sea along a unique transport route – the Northern Sea Route (NSR), in the future. In the process of applying the SO's method, an analysis of the system components of the past and present (subsystems), the cause-effect relationships forming the vector of these changes, was carried out by identifying an analogy and an actual request of society and consumers to solve the problem. An analysis of the supra space component, which allows to consider the problems of the phenomenon in the macro-scale, which is also considered in modification based on the identification of existing correlations or repeating components (in part). Based on the data obtained, the prospects for modification of gt in the future, which can become the basis for the formation of new innovative designs for the marine fleet carrying ng. 

Prospects for the Modification of Gas Tankers in the Arctic Zone

The procedure of evaluating the surface roughness of metal-cutting tools strengthened by the local electrospark deposition of coatings with the subsequent burnishing with VOK-60 mineral ceramics using a complex parameter (Δ) is considered. The facility and the principle of its operation for the smoothing of cylindrical, conical, and end surfaces using the lathes of the turning group are suggested. The optimal modes of burnishing with mineral ceramics to ensure the maximal durability of the smoother and the required roughness parameter are established.

The working element of the attachment is a dia mond tip 1, receiving the force from calibrated spring 3 in housing 2. By means of handle 4, the attachment is mounted in the cutter holder of a lathe. All the attachments are based on a spring mechanism. The force required for diamond smoothing is provided by compression of the spring using screw 5, whose dis placement is monitored by means of a scale on the housing. Natural and synthetic diamond tips are used for smoothing. The selected radius of the diamond sphere is 0.5–4 mm, depending on the initial hardness of the surface to be smoothed.

Mathematical modeling of geopolitical processes, medium-term forecasting of the spatial development of the Russian Arctic in the face of challenges from foreign states claiming its natural resources and territorial waters.Results. It confirms the need to include scientific developments in the methodological apparatus of geopolitical research to identify qualitative and quantitative definitions of the geopolitical potential of the state, which contributes to ensuring the national security of Russia and improving its spatial development.Conclusions. The transition to the sixth technological mode is not limited to a radical transformation of the country’s production complex, but also implies the need to create a unified infrastructure architecture for the Greater Eurasia (“smart” Eurasia), into which the Russian Arctic organically fits.
