Synthesis of a molecularly imprinted polymer and its application for microextraction by packed sorbent for the determination of fluoroquinolone related compounds in water
TL;DR: The analysis of wastewater samples revealed the high selectivity of the synthesized polymer which was able to recognize and retain the target analytes by both extraction methods and the semi-automated MEPS packed with MIP material.

Determination of alkylphenols and 17β-estradiol in fish homogenate. Extraction and clean-up strategies
P. Navarro,Julen Bustamante,Asier Vallejo,A. Prieto,Aresatz Usobiaga,Sonia Arrasate,Eneritz Anakabe,Eunate Puy-Azurmendi,Olatz Zuloaga +8 more
TL;DR: The microwave-assisted extraction and focused-ultrasound liquid extraction were studied as two different alternatives for extraction of the target compounds in zebrafish (Danio rerio) homogenate and comparable results were obtained for 4tOP and E2 after FUSLE.

Optimization of large volume injection-programmable temperature vaporization-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis for the determination of estrogenic compounds in environmental samples.
Asier Vallejo,L.A. Fernández,Maitane Olivares,A. Prieto,Nestor Etxebarria,Aresatz Usobiaga,Olatz Zuloaga +6 more
TL;DR: Large volume injection-programmable temperature vaporization-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (LVI-PTV-GC-MS) was optimized for the determination of estrogenic compounds in environmental samples such as estuarine water, wastewater, and fish homogenate and bile.

Extraction Procedures for Organic Pollutants Determination in Water
Nestor Etxebarria,P. Navarro,A. Prieto,Maitane Olivares,Aresatz Usobiaga,L.A. Fernández,Olatz Zuloaga +6 more
- 01 Jan 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of analytical methods for the analysis of organic pollutants in environmental water samples as alternative choices against the most classical liquid-liquid extraction or solid-phase extraction.

Determination of organic priority pollutants and emerging compounds in wastewater and snow samples using multiresidue protocols on the basis of microextraction by packed sorbents coupled to large volume injection gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis.
TL;DR: The results demonstrate the high sensitivity of both procedures which permitted to obtain good recoveries (>75%) for all cases and the precision of the methods, calculated as relative standard deviation (RSD) was below 21% for all compounds and both methodologies.
