Heavy ion storage ring without linear dispersion
TL;DR: In this paper, a possible method to realize a dispersion-free storage ring is described, where simultaneous use of a magnetic field and an electric field in bending regions, where the two fields are set perpendicular to each other, enables us to control the effect of momentum dispersion.

- 01 Dec 2002
TL;DR: In this paper, two different cooling methods have been studied with the purpose of reducing the cooling time of an ion beam with a large momentum spread of ∆P/P=1%.
Recent status of laser cooling for Mg realized at S-LSR

TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied laser cooling for Mg ion beam with the kinetic energy of 40 keV and found that longitudinal and transverse temperatures are coupled linearly.
