Genotyping of adenoviruses isolated in an outbreak in a bone marrow transplant unit shows that diverse strains are involved
TL;DR: In the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of the "Centre Hospitalier Universitaire" in Nancy, from October 1995 to May 1996, 13 patients of 65 (20%) had a positive adenovirus culture after bone marrow transplant, which raised fears of nosocomial spread and so isolates were serotyped.

Isolation of the provisionally named Desulfovibrio fairfieldensis from human periodontal pockets
TL;DR: This finding reinforces the suggestion that Desulfovibrio fairfieldensis is a human bacterium that may present a pathogenic potential.

Stimulation of rat cutaneous fibroblasts and their synthetic activity by implants of powdered nacre (mother of pearl).
TL;DR: The effect of nacre on the skin fibroblast recruitment and physiological activity resulted in enhanced extracellular matrix synthesis and the production of components implicated in cell to cell adhesion and communication and in tissue regeneration (type I and type III collagens).

Multiresistant corynebacteria in bacteriuria: a comparative study of the role of Corynebacterium group D2 and Corynebacterium jeikeium.
TL;DR: During an 11-month prospective study, urine cultures were performed on 5685 samples obtained in three hospital units and the use of a selective medium improved the recovery of antibiotic-multiresistant corynebacteria (AMC): 703 isolates compared with 88 isolates on sheep blood agar.

Hepatitis B virus X gene variability in French-born patients with chronic hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
TL;DR: The polymorphism of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) X gene from patients born in Lorraine has been studied in serum samples from 22 HBV infected patients, 14 presenting with chronic hepatitis and 8 with hepatocellular carcinoma.
