Near-barrier fusion of Sn + Ni and Te + Ni systems: examining the correlation between nucleon transfer and fusion enhancement
Z. Kohley,J. F. Liang,Dan Shapira,R. L. Varner,Carl J Gross,J. M. Allmond,A. L. Caraley,E. A. Coello,F. Favela,K. Lagergren,P. E. Mueller +10 more
TL;DR: The present results suggest a dramatically different influence of positive Q-value transfer channels on the fusion process for the Sn + Ni and Te + Ni systems.
Dynamic polarization in the Coulomb breakup of loosely bound 17F
J. F. Liang,J. R. Beene,A. L. Caraley,Henning Esbensen,A. Galindo-Uribarri,Carl J Gross,P. E. Mueller,Kyle Schmitt,Dan Shapira,D. W. Stracener,R. L. Varner +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the Coulomb breakup of radioactive 17F by impinging a 10 MeV/nucleon beam on 208Pb and on 58Ni to study the dynamic polarization effects.

Fusion probability for neutron-rich radioactive Sn induced reactions
J. F. Liang,Carl J Gross,Z. Kohley,Dan Shapira,R. L. Varner,J. M. Allmond,A. L. Caraley,Karin Lagergren,P. E. Mueller +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of neutron excess in neutron-rich radioactive nuclei on fusion were measured to study the effect of neutrons on fusion probability in the presence of the same atomic elements but different isotope combinations.

Evaporation residue yields in reactions of heavy neutron‐rich radioactive ion beams with 64Ni and 96Zr targets
D. Shapira,J. F. Liang,C. J. Gross,R. L. Varner,J. R. Beene,D. W. Stracener,P. E. Mueller,J. J. Kolata,A. Roberts,Walter Loveland,A. M. Vinodkumar,L. Prisbrey,P. H. Sprunger,K. L. Jones,A. L. Caraley +14 more
- 23 Mar 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, the evaporation residues (ERs) were measured using low intensity neutron-rich radioactive ion beams with an efficiency close to 100% in collisions of 132,134Sn, 134Te and 134Sb with medium mass, neutron•rich targets.

Measurement of evaporation residue cross sections from reactions with radioactive neutron-rich beams
Dan Shapira,J. F. Liang,Carl J Gross,R. L. Varner,J. R. Beene,A. Galindo-Uribarri,J. Gomez del Campo,P. E. Mueller,D. W. Stracener,Paul Hausladen,C. Harlin,J. J. Kolata,H. Amro,Walter Loveland,K. L. Jones,J. D. Bierman,A. L. Caraley +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, a compact system to measure these cross sections to values as low as 1 mb is described and a sample of data acquired with this system is shown, where the cross sections for 132Sn, 134Te and 124Sn with 64Ni were measured.
