6.5 kW, Yb:YAG Ceramic Thin Disk Laser
W. P. Latham,A. I. Lobad,Tim C. Newell,Don Stalnaker +3 more
- 18 Oct 2010
TL;DR: In this article, the operation of a 1030 nm, single, thin disk laser, which produced 6.5 kW of laser output power with 57 percent slope efficiency was reported, attributed to the enhanced, spatial hole burning effect when the gain element is adjacent to a mirror.

Carrier thermalization, cooling and diffusion in InSb through a nonlinear pump-probe technique
A. I. Lobad,L.A.V. Schlie +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the ultrafast carrier dynamics in InSb using a nonlinear pump-probe technique and showed that the nonlinear signature and dynamics of the transmission-bleaching signal enables the differentiation of carrier thermalization from cooling dynamics.
