Study of resonant reactions with radioactive ion beams
A. Galindo-Uribarri,J. Gomez del Campo,J. R. Beene,Carl J Gross,Carl J Gross,J. F. Liang,S. D. Paul,Dan Shapira,D. W. Stracener,R. L. Varner,E. Chávez,A. Huerta,M.E. Ortiz,E. Padilla,S. Pascual +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, a fast and efficient method to study (p,p) and (α,α) resonances with radioactive beams in inverse kinematics is described, based on the use of thick targets and large area double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSDs) to detect the recoiling light-charged particles and to determine precisely their scattering angle.

Historic binnacle of 14C/12C concentration in Mexico City
TL;DR: In this article, new Δ14C measurements in cellulose extracted from the growth rings of two trees over a 43-year period are presented. But the results were compared with data from other cities (Nagoya, Japan and Valladolid, Spain) and showed that data from El Nayar is consistent with that reported for Zone 2 of the Northern Hemisphere while that from the urban area shows a significant decrease in Δ14c.

Reaction production + AMS: An alternative method to study low energy reactions. 26Al as a test case
Luis Acosta,Luis Acosta,V. Araujo-Escalona,E. Chávez,E. Andrade,L. Barrón-Palos,F. Favela,F. Favela,M. Flores,J. García-Ramírez,A. Huerta,O.G. de Lucio,C. Méndez-García,M.E. Ortiz,S. Padilla,A. M. Sánchez-Benítez,P. Santa Rita,Corina Solís +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, preliminary results regarding a campaign of measurements related with radioisotope production, are presented, where the radio-nucleus is produced by means of irradiation of targets selected in correlation with particular reactions; once the enrichment with 26 Al was made, the targets are analyzed in an AMS machine to obtain the concentration of 26 Al produced during the irradiation.
14C content in aerosols in Mexico City
V. Gómez,Corina Solís,E. Chávez,E. Andrade,M.E. Ortiz,A. Huerta,J. Aragón,María Rodríguez-Ceja,Miguel Ángel Martínez,E. Ortiz +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors determined the F14C-AMS of total carbon in aerosols (PM10 fraction), collected in Mexico City during two weeks from 21 November to 3 December 2012.

Absolute cross sections measurement for the 12C + 12C system at astrophysically relevant energies
L. Barrón-Palos,E. F. Aguilera,J. Aspiazu,A. Huerta,E. Martinez-Quiroz,R. Monroy,E. Moreno,G. Murillo,M.E. Ortiz,R. Policroniades,A. Varela,E. Chávez +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the energy dependence of the S -factor is found to increase as the energy decreases below 3 MeV in the center of mass, which is the energy region relevant for star evolution and nucleosynthesis calculations.
