Aromatic Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions.

Die Diazo-alkane zeigen in ihrer Reaktivitat eine erstaunliche Vielseitigkeit, die hinter der der aromatischen Diazo-Verbindungen nicht zurucksteht. Beim gegenwartigen Entwicklungsstand der theoretischen organischen Chemie erscheint es zweckmasig, die weitere Erschliesung einer Verbindungsklasse nicht allein formalen Analogien oder gar dem Zufall zu uberlassen. Ohne Vollstandigkeit anzustreben, wird im folgenden eine konsequente theoretische Deutung der Reaktionen aliphatischer Diazo-Verbindungen versucht. Eine Synopsis des grosen experimentellen Materials erscheint umsomehr gerechtfertigt, als die schone, sich vornehmlich auf die Reaktionen des Grundkorpers beziehende Zusammenfassung von B. Eistert) bereits 14 Jahre zuruckliegt.

Altes und Neues über aliphatische Diazoverbindungen

Wenngleich im letzten Jahrzehnt der neue Eliminierungsmechanismus der nucleophilen Substitution im Vordergrund des Interesses stand, wurde auch dem klassischen Chemismus, in dessen einleitendem Schritt sich das nucleophile Agens an die aromatische Verbindung addiert, erhohte Aufmerksamkeit gezollt. Neue mechanistische Beitrage konnten die Theorie dieser Substitution wesentlich klaren. Auch die praktische Bedeutung ist noch nicht ausgeschopft; an die Verwendung des 2.4-Dinitro-fluor-benzols in der Proteinchemie sei als neueres Beispiel erinnert. In dieser Ubersicht werden nach einer einleitenden Klassifizierung der nucleophilen aromatischen Substitution sowohl deren praparative Bedeutung als auch die Kinetik und der Mechanismus dargelegt. Gesondert zusammengefast wurden jene Substitutionen, bei denen Umlagerungen eintreten.

The radical carbohydroxylation of styrenes with aryldiazonium salts has been achieved under mild thermal conditions. A broad range of aryldiazonium salts was tolerated, and the reaction principle based on a radical-polar crossover mechanism could be extended to carboetherification as well as to a two-step, metal-free variant of the Meerwein arylation leading to stilbenes.
